VL-80 80kW Liquid-Cooled Fuel Cell System
The VL-80 is an 80kW liquid-cooled fuel cell system for demanding mobility and stationary applications.
It integrates the stack, controls, cooling, and balance-of-plant components for zero-emission hydrogen operation.

- 80 kW nominal power and up to 81 kW peak output for demanding applications.
- Zero-emission operation, producing only clean water.
- High efficiency: ≥43% at rated load and up to 60% at idle.
- Quick refueling in just 5–10 minutes, ideal for extended vehicle range.
- Fast start-up: ≤30 seconds to idle and ≤15 minutes from a -30 °C freeze start.
- High power density of ≥500 W/kg in a compact design.
- Flexible integration with a 450–720 VDC output range for compatibility with battery and drive systems.
- Reliable operation in harsh conditions, from -30 °C to +45 °C and up to 2000 m altitude, with derating above 1000 m.
Integrated 80kW fuel cell system
The VL-80 is Horizon's third mid-range fuel cell system offering and targets high-demand energy applications. Its 80kW output can power everything from small communities or industrial installations to Class 8 trucks, agricultural machinery, and construction equipment converted to zero-emission operation.
Because it is delivered as a full system rather than a stand-alone stack, it includes the required balance-of-plant components: air filter, air flow meter, intelligent hydrogen solenoid valve, humidifier, throttle valve, radiator, ion exchange, controller, fuel cell stack, water tank, 24V fuel-cell water pump, constant-voltage DC unit, and blower for stack air supply.
The system is designed for professional integration projects that need a vehicle- or plant-ready liquid-cooled architecture, clean hydrogen operation, and potential noise reduction compared with conventional combustion equipment.
