HD2015 Tipping bucket rain gauge
High-precision tipping bucket rain gauge with reed relay output signal, removable filter and heater option for reliable rainfall measurements.
Overview
The rain gauge accurately measures rainfall using an automatic emptying tipping bucket.
It features a reed switch that opens each time the weight of the accumulated water causes the bucket to tip, producing a pulse that can be recorded by a datalogger or pulse counter.
It is specially designed to comply with the guidelines established by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
Design and durability
The instrument has a robust design and is fully manufactured with corrosion-resistant materials to ensure maximum durability.
The special funnel coating efficiently directs rainwater to the tipping bucket, located on a metal base. The included removable filter prevents leaves, debris, or other elements from blocking the funnel.
Optional heater
It activates automatically at temperatures around 4°C, preventing the accumulation of ice and snow in the funnel and allowing accurate measurements at low temperatures or during and after snowfall.
Mounting options
The rain gauge includes 3 small support feet, but it can also be installed at 0.5 or 1 m height, either on a hard surface or fixed into the ground using optional mounting bases. The optional bird spike ring prevents birds from perching on the funnel rim.
