VWSE-RST vibrating wire soil Extensometer
Vibrating wire soil extensometer for monitoring lateral and longitudinal deformation in soil, embankments, and embankment dams.
The VWSE-RST vibrating wire soil extensometer is designed to monitor lateral and longitudinal deformation in soil, embankments, and embankment dams.
The instrument consists of a vibrating wire displacement sensor enclosed in a sealed body. The assembly includes a telescopic outer PVC pipe fitted with two flanges and an inner stainless steel rod. One end of the rod is attached to a flange, while the other end is connected to the displacement sensor attached to the opposite flange.
Units are typically installed in series as a chain over the required monitoring distance. As deformation occurs, the telescopic pipe moves with the soil and the displacement sensor measures the resulting movement.
