Soil Water Infiltration Rate:

 Soil water infiltration is the amount of water entering the soil per unit area. When measured, infiltration defines a curve called the infiltration curve. This can be divided into two parts:

 The first is where water potential dominates the infiltration process (when infiltration rates are highest).
 The second is where Saturated Hydraulic Conductivity (Ks) defines the infiltration rate. Ks expresses the rate at which water can be measured when the porous medium is saturated.
