FCJJ-39 Wind Energy Science Kit
STEM kit for building a miniature wind power generation system and studying how wind converts into electrical energy. Includes 4 hands-on experiments, an LED module and a full curriculum for blade, angle, voltage, current and power analysis.
Overview
The FCJJ-39 Wind Energy Science Kit lets students build a miniature power generation system that converts wind into electrical energy. Learners can experiment with blade pitch, determine the optimum number of blades and compare three profiled blade types based on NASA aeronautics together with one polypropylene sheet blade.
The kit includes an LED module to demonstrate the output power created by the turbine. It also allows multiple turbines to be arranged in series and parallel configurations to study voltage, current and power, and to design a model-scale simulation of a commercial wind farm.
Educational use
The Horizon Energy curriculum provides hands-on lab activities, teacher guides and student guides that support classroom work on wind power. For more advanced experiments Horizon recommends pairing the kit with the FCJJ-24 Renewable Energy Monitor.
