DRT27 LTE IoT dendrometer with LTE modem for trunk growth monitoring

The EMS DRT27 LTE is a smart dendrometer for continuous monitoring of radial stem growth and the tree response to drought stress and freezing events. It combines the sensor, acquisition electronics and an LTE modem in one compact unit designed for long-term outdoor deployment.
The tape fixing method is non-invasive and does not affect natural growth. Because there is no upper stem diameter limit, the instrument can be installed on a wide range of trees. Thermal expansion of the construction closely matches wood behaviour, helping to maintain stable measurement under demanding field conditions.
The device sends data to EMScloud through a global SIM that automatically finds an available LTE network, so the unit is ready to transmit right after installation. Measured values can be viewed online, exported in several formats and further analysed in Mini32 for time-series work, automatic record alignment and growth parameter calculations.
It is an efficient tool for ecophysiology studies, drought monitoring, forestry campaigns, agricultural research and assessment of tree water status, especially when combined with soil water potential measurements.
