MS-80 Class A Albedometer
ISO 9060:2018 Class A albedometer for low-uncertainty albedo measurement in meteorology and solar plants with bifacial PV modules.
Description
The MS-80 Albedometer combines two MS-80 pyranometers with the MS-Albedo Kit and a glare screen. It is designed to measure albedo with the lowest possible uncertainty across demanding applications, including meteorology and solar power plants with bifacial PV modules.
It delivers ultra-fast, spectrally flat response with exceptionally low zero offset, analog output, a 5-year warranty, and a recommended 5-year recalibration interval. The MS-80 is an ISO 9060:2018 Class A benchmark and an IEC 61724-1 compliant option for photovoltaic performance monitoring and large weather sensor networks.
The patented design uses an isolated thermopile detector, hermetically sealed beneath a pure quartz diffusor in a compact single-dome housing. The diffusor passes all solar wavelengths while reducing the total energy received at detector level, including harmful UV irradiance, improving accuracy, speed, and reliability.
MS-80 sensors are manufactured under strict quality controls. EKO provides calibration compliant with ISO/IEC 17025/9847, validated by a measurement report supplied with the sensor.
Key benefits
- Under 0.5 s super-fast response time for accurate measurements during rapidly changing irradiance conditions.
- High reliability with a 5-year warranty and recommended 5-year recalibration interval.
- Zero offset A below 1 W/m2 and non-stability below 0.5% over 5 years.
- IEC 61724-1 compliant photovoltaic system performance monitoring.
