PT-VW-SG Vibrating wire and strain gauge pressure transducers
Rugged pressure transducers for closed-circuit and demanding geotechnical applications. Available in vibrating wire and strain gauge versions with lightning protection and a broad pressure range.
Overview
Vibrating wire and strain gauge Pressure Transducers are designed for uplift measurement in concrete dam foundations, overflow settlement measurement in earthfill and rockfill dams, and other applications requiring a rugged and reliable pressure transducer for measuring fluid pressure in closed circuits.
Both the strain gauge and vibrating wire versions are supplied with either a 1/4-inch NPT thread or a 1/4-inch or 1/8-inch NPT port for easy connection to pipes and other hydraulic circuit components being monitored. Both transducers can be read dynamically when required by the application.
Operational advantages
- Small, rugged package for harsh environments.
- Unique cable seal system to ensure water-tight integrity.
- Broad selection of pressure ranges.
- Compatibility with RST data loggers and computer data acquisition systems.
- Highly reliable lightning protection supplied as standard on both strain gauge and vibrating wire versions.
Applications
The manufacturer highlights civil infrastructure, energy, surface mining, and underground mining applications. They are suitable for monitored hydraulic circuits and geotechnical environments where dependable long-term pressure instrumentation is required.
