LS-40 Temperature Sensor for conifer needles
LS 40 - LAT-C Leaf temperature sensor for conifer needles. Extremely lightweight. Direct, highly precise and continuous measurements of needle AND air temperature, range between -20 and +70°C. Spatial signal integration via multiple measurement points at the surface of several needles. Suitable for needle sizes > 3 mm length.
Analogue sensor outputs (mV):
1) thermopile:1x differential channel, - 4.2 to 4.2 mV for a temperature difference between needle and air from -10 to +10 °C
2) thermistor: 1x single ended channel, @ typical excitation voltage of 2500 mV -> analogue output 0-2500 mV.
Operating Environment:
- 25 to 70 °C; 0 to 100 % relative humidity.
Standard configuration:
- Complete with pluggable 5 m sensor cable extension, extension may be to up to 20 m.

LS-40 Leaf Temperature Sensor Typ ΔLA-C
The ΔLA-C (ΔT Leaf-to-Air-Conifer type) is a highly accurate sensor for continuous measurements of temperature differences between conifer needle surface and ambient air. The signal is captured by means of a very thin chain (10-fold) of thermocouples. Designed for conifer needles, the sensor with its multiple measurement points is directly attached to different needles, providing a spatially integrative temperature signal.

- Sensor output in mV, recordable with most of the common data loggers, no calibration is needed for signal transformation in ° C
- Minimal load on the target, no injury to plants

- Leaf size and shape specific ordering possible
Limits
- Not suitable for needles shorter than 3 mm
