The HOBO MX20L is a Bluetooth water level and temperature logger that enables fast, reliable field data download through the free HOBOconnect app, without connecting the logger to a base station or shuttle. Its self-contained, non-vented design supports easy deployment in wells, streams, lakes, wetlands, and tidal areas, in both freshwater and saltwater.

It is available with 13, 30, or 100 ft depth options, provides 0.1% measurement accuracy, and uses a durable polypropylene housing. The ceramic pressure sensor withstands freezing. The logger records absolute pressure, which HOBOconnect later converts into water level readings. Another MX20L can be used as a barometric reference to compensate for barometric pressure changes.

Battery life is up to 10 years in power-saving mode. The logger includes a magnetic activation fob with lanyard to wake the unit and activate Bluetooth communication. A calibration certificate is not offered for this model; for NIST-traceable calibration, see models U20-001-01 or U20-001-01-Ti.

  • Resolution: <0.02 kPa water; 0.007 ft water.
  • Pressure response time (90%): <1 s at stable temperature.
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth through HOBOconnect.
  • Housing: polypropylene, suitable for freshwater and saltwater.
  • Battery life: up to 10 years in power-saving mode.
