SCR-MSRE Membrane Sensing Reference Electrode Accessory

Reference: SCR-MSRE - Manufacturer: Scribner Associates

Scribner accessory for half-cell potential measurements under real operating conditions without compromising overall cell performance. Compatible with virtually any Scribner cell fixture and ideal for alkaline electrolysis, CO2 electrolysis, fuel cells, and related electrochemical systems.

Scribner develops and manufactures high-performance electrochemical testing systems for fuel cell, electrolysis, redox flow, membrane and battery research. With more than 40 years of experience, the company is widely recognized for its precision instrumentation, strong electrochemical know-how, comprehensive safety features and responsive technical support.

Serving research laboratories, universities and institutions worldwide, Scribner provides reliable and scalable solutions designed to help researchers overcome technical challenges, accelerate innovation and advance scientific discovery.

The SCR-MSRE accessory from Scribner has been developed to deliver accurate half-cell potential measurements with virtually any Scribner cell fixture while preserving representative operating conditions.

The solution uses the membrane potential sensing method, an established approach for isolating electrode behavior without significantly disturbing normal cell operation. This allows researchers to study anode and cathode performance independently, evaluate overpotentials, and gain deeper insight into kinetics, degradation mechanisms, and material behavior.

The accessory integrates naturally with Scribner electrochemical platforms and includes gasket and membrane templates to simplify experimental assembly. It also supports multiple reference electrode configurations for alkaline electrolysis, CO2 electrolysis, fuel cells, and other advanced electrochemical applications.

Scribner demonstrates the approach in alkaline water electrolysis using the 857 Electrochemical Flowbench and matching electrolysis cell hardware, showing stable and reproducible measurements without sacrificing full-cell performance.
