La versión PHYTO-PAM-II COMPACT presenta un analizador de fitoplancton y fotosíntesis de cinco longitudes de onda que proporciona deconvolución de hasta cuatro grupos de algas (algas verdes, diatomeas, cianobacterias y organismos que contienen ficoeritrina). El instrumento sostiene la unidad de control y la cámara de medición en un solo diseño compacto y apto para aplicaciones en tierra y de campo.

PHYTO-PAM-II presenta análisis de PAM clásicos, medidas de los aspectos de la fotosíntesis dependientes de la longitud de onda, medidas cinéticas rápidas con alta resolución temporal para medir Se eleva la fluorescencia de O-I1 así como la evaluación de la sección transversal de absorción funcional de PSII (σPSII). Por lo tanto PHYTO-PAM-II abre nuevos aspectos en la investigación de algas.

Tres versiones alternativas del sistema PHYTO-PAM con diferentes unidades de detección de emisor están disponibles para diferentes tipos de muestras. Todos ellos se basan en el mismo centro de Power-and-Control-Unidad FITO-C:

Versión MODULAR La ventaja de la versión MODULAR es la compatibilidad con la unidad de control de temperatura US-T controlando un rango de temperatura de 30K de la suspensión en la cubeta de 10mm x 10mm x 45mm, así como el agitador magnético en miniatura PHYTO-MS controlado por el Power-and-Control Unidad PHYTO-C. Ambos accesorios pueden utilizarse en paralelo.

Versión FIBRA La caja compacta de emisor-detector contiene 4 fuentes de luz LED de medición diferentes (470 nm, 520 nm, 645 nm y 665 nm), las fuentes de luz LED actínicas (655 nm) y un detector fotomultiplicador.
