LAQUAtwin ORP-11 Pocket Redox Potential (ORP) Meter

The Oxide Reduction Potential (ORP) indicates the oxidation or reduction capacity of chemical species of a solution. This capacity is related to the amount of oxygen present in the water. In some applications, ORP is a measure of the disinfecting (oxidation) power of oxidants in a solution, such as chlorine, chlorine dioxide, and ozone.

Positive ORP values indicate a generally oxidizing medium, while negative values indicate a reducing medium. The ORP value is expressed in millivolts (mV) using a combination of an inert noble metal (gold or platinum) electrode with a reference electrode.

This tool can be useful for decision making when carrying out quality inspections, as it provides an immediate assessment of the ORP value in many applications such as:

These devices incorporate a platinum flat ion electrode for microvolume measurement. They only require a few drops (0.3 ml) to provide a fast and accurate analysis.

It can be used as a traditional ORP meter by immersing the electrode in a liquid.

Measurement in three simple steps:

1. Calibration: For a correct calibration, the sensor must be clean beforehand. If not, rinse with water and put some standard solution on the sensor and press the calibration button. A smiley face will appear indicating that calibration is complete. Clean the sensor with water until the calibration solution is removed and dry it with a soft, clean tissue.

2. Analysis: Only a tiny amount of sample is required, so just fill the sensor and wait a few seconds until the smiley face appears.

3. Cleaning: Always keep the sensor clean.

Sensors should be replaced after approximately 1500 measurements or when calibration cannot be performed. Sensors are sold separately and can be easily removed and replaced.
