Open FluorCam FC 800-O / 1010 and FC 800-O / 2020 are highly modular instruments with flexible geometry that allow you to work with samples of various sizes (from microtiter plates to small trees). Open FluorCam FC 800-O represents a highly innovative, robust, and easy-to-use worldwide system for combined multispectral and kinetic fl uorescence imaging. It consists of a CCD camera, four to five fixed LED panels (4 + 1 additional, which is not included in the standard configuration) and, optionally, a filter wheel equipped with up to 7 different emission filters. The four LED panels can be positioned at various angles and distances from the sample. The position of the chamber can also be adjusted with respect to the height of the specimen.
The dimensions of the LED panels can be 130 × 130mm or 200 × 200mm, which is suitable for images from small plants (such as Arabidopsis thaliana) to medium-sized plants or small trees, loose leaves, fruits, vegetables, etc. The system allows an easy adaptation to the dark of an investigated sample if it is a dark box (not part of the standard configuration).
The Open FluorCam FC 800-O / 1010 generates fluorescence signal images at any time during the experiment and displays them using a dummy color scale. Full kinetic analysis is available. In all applications, the camera enables images of fluorescence transients induced by actinic light or by saturation flashes. The time and amplitude of the actinic irradiance are determined by user-defined protocols. The Open FluorCam FC 800-O also includes a high-performance PC and a complete software package comprising total system control, data acquisition, and image processing. For a seasoned professional, the software offers a sophisticated programming language that can be used to design novel timing and measurement sequences.

TOMI-2 high resolution camera
This camera (1360 x 1024 px resolution, 20 images per second) is designed for the combined measurement of ChlF and the detection of weak steady-state fluorescence signals (such as GFP) with long integration times or applications where the highest spatial resolution is of greater importance (microscopy).
PAR-Absorptivity and NDVI module
High-end option to measure PAR absorptivity and NDVI reflectance index. Includes 7 position filter wheel, 13 x 13 cm light panel (installed around the camera and mounted with 740nm far red LEDs + 660nm deep red LEDs) and a glass filter. The PAR measurement is based on the reflectance of plants in the near infrared region and in the range of the visible red spectrum. The NDVI is used as a vegetative index to predict photosynthetic activity. For use with FC 800-C / 1010, FC 800-C / 1010-GPF or FC 800-O / 1010 only.
Multicolored plant module
High-end option for measuring emission spectra in plants (according to Lichtenthaler and Bushmann). Includes 7-position filter wheel, UV LED light panel (installed around the camera and mounted with 4 380nm UV LEDs), four filters: BLUE (FF01-440 / 40), GREEN (FF02-520 / 28) , RED (FF01-690 / 8), FAR-RED (FF01-747 / 33) - and a special software module.
IMPORTANT NOTES: For use only in FC 800-C / 1010, FC 800-C / 1010-GPF or FC 800-O / 1010. This module cannot be used with the PAR-Absorptivity and NDVI module in the FC 800-C / 1010 or FC 800-C / 1010-GPF.
Filter wheel
The 7-position software-controlled filter wheel enables imaging in different emission bands. Filters are easily interchangeable.
Additional LED light panels
The additional LED light panel is mounted on top of the FluorCam system. It is located below the camera; the camera lens is inserted into the central opening of this panel. The panel expands the possibility of using more excitation colors for special applications. It is equipped with 4 high-power LEDs in the one-channel version or 8 high-power LEDs in the two-channel version. Available colors are: far red (740nm), dark red (660nm), ultraviolet (365 or 385nm), green (523nm), amber (590nm). Other options available upon request.
Ultraviolet panel (365 or 385 nm): Recommended use: (1) multicolored fluorescence: blue F440, green F520, red F680 and infrared F740 excited by UV (must be accompanied by the filter wheel and the high resolution CCD); (2) excitation source for wtGFP, DAPI (filter wheel and high resolution CCD required). Optical power 1.5 W.
Blue panel (470 nm): Recommended use: (1) excitation source for EGFP (must be accompanied by filter wheel and high resolution CCD); (2) studies on the function of stomata.
Green panel (530 nm): Recommended use: excitation source for YFP (must be accompanied by the filter wheel and high resolution CCD).
Far red panel (740 nm): Maximum total output: 1200 mW (4 x 300 mW). Recommended use: determination of absorbance of Fo 'and PAR (the use of a filter wheel is required).
PAR - NDVI Panel (660 nm + 740 nm): This panel is part of the PAR-Absorptivity and NDVI module.
Rack set for specimen holders
The racks serve for the firm and secure fixation of the sample holders (Petri dishes or multi-well plates) in the desired location on the shelf or bottom of the FluorCam. Sold as a set of six different holders: for 90mm, 100mm, 120mm or 140mm Petri dishes; 4 x 60mm Petri dish; and for 96-well plate.
Additional protective goggles
Radiation safety glasses that protect against excessive LED radiation, equipped with side cover and protective filters. One pair of glasses is provided with the device free of charge.
Dark adaptation box
It allows adaptation to darkness of the measured samples and / or their adjustment to different light conditions. Manufactured in two versions: version 1010 is suitable for FluorCam FC 800-O / 1010; The 2020 version is suitable for FluorCam FC 800-O / 2020. (Due to the fact that both boxes are bulky and heavy, they are only available for EU customers).
